These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions on our website. You should read through them carefully before placing your order.
All our products are handmade and may be subject to natural variation in size and colour.
When you place an order, we will require your name, and e-mail address. Without this information we will not be able to process your request or notify you of acceptance of your order.
A contact telephone number is also required so that we may reach you if there is a problem with your order, or if your order requires a delivery quote. We may, unless you advise us otherwise, pass this information to our couriers or other agents in case they need to contact you to arrange the processing or delivery of your order. As part of our efforts to ensure that you are aware of the latest developments and offers, we may also use this information to advise you of new products, special offers or changes to our site. We will obtain authorisation on your card before your order can be accepted. Once authorised, we will send an order confirmation to the e-mail address you have supplied to us. You will be notified if there are any delays. If there are any problems with your order or if your item(s) is out of stock, you will be contacted by us either by email or by phone.
You are entitled to cancel this contract provided you exercise your right no longer than 7 working days after the day on which you receive the products. If you wish to exercise your right to cancel this contract prior to order despatch, please contact our customer services department on +44 (0)7838371405 or by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. If your order has already been despatched please follow the procedure set out in Delivery and Returns section.
Payment for all orders is in pounds sterling and at point of sale (not at the point of despatch) and inclusive of VAT. We offer a currency conversion guide which will calculate the price in other currencies. These converted prices are for guidance only and the amount you are charged by your card issuer / PayPal will differ. Many credit / debit card issuers now charge a conversion fee for transactions in currencies other than the one assigned to your card.The total cost of your order is the price of the products ordered plus delivery. You confirm that the credit or debit card that is being used is your own. All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses the payment, for any reason, authorise, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery. We reserve the right to withdraw any products from this site at any time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on this site. We may refuse to process a transaction for any reason or refuse service to anyone at any time at our discretion. We will not be liable to you or any third party by reason of our withdrawing any product from this site whether or not that product has been sold.The price you pay is the price displayed on our website at the time we receive your order, and will be clearly stated on your order confirmation, with the following exception. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price, or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled, and will give you a full refund. At the moment you can amend or update your shopping cart at any time prior to entering your card details or logging into PayPal. The payment area is managed by PayPal Express but you DO NOT have to be a PayPal account holder to order products from Dare By Arete. Simply look for the sign lower down the page which says “Not a PayPal user?” select this option and then follow the instructions to make your credit or debit card payments as normal. All goods will remain the property of Dare By Arlete until paid for in full. We do not accept cheques.
We aim to despatch most orders the same day or the next working day. Our standard delivery service for leather bags and jewellery uses Royal Mail Delivery service which should take 2 working days from despatch. Please allow 7 full working days before notifying us of any delays in arrival. If you are a UK customer and need your order in a hurry, or guaranteed within 3 days, we strongly recommend you use our UK Next Day Guaranteed Delivery service (you can chose in the check out area). If you opted for our UK Next Day Guaranteed Delivery service and ordered before 2pm Monday to Friday your order will arrive the next working day. We can only deliver overseas to the credit or debit cardholder’s address as stated on their card statement. A signature will be required on delivery of your order. Where a signature is not provided the parcel may be held at your local Royal Mail or Courier collection office (for one week), and a card requesting collection/detailing re-delivery options will be left. Parcels returned to us due to non-collection will be re-delivered at the expense of the customer.
There may be additional charges for delivery to some remote areas / regions in the UK. We will contact you as soon as we can after you have placed your order to discuss any extra charges that may apply to the delivery of your order. Unfortunately we are unable to add the extra charge when an order is placed.
Special Delivery Service:
If you choose our UK Next Day Guaranteed service, we will despatch your order the same day if orders are received before 2pm Monday – Friday. Orders received after 2pm will be despatched the next working day. Guaranteed Next Day orders placed on before 2pm Friday will be delivered on Monday. We are unable to offer a Guaranteed Saturday Delivery service. Orders placed after 2pm on Friday will be despatched on Monday afternoon to arrive on Tuesday.
This service is only available in mainland Britain and GB postcodes in Northern Ireland.
Orders for European destinations usually take 5-10 days to arrive. Orders for US / Canadian / NZ / Australian and other worldwide destinations can take 5-20 working days to arrive. If your order was placed outside the UK and it has not arrived after 25 days please contact us.

All card payments made on our web site are protected by a secure connection provided by WorldPay; a leading provider of secure online card payments.
When you place an order all credit card details are encrypted using 128 bit encryption on a Protx secure SSL server (note: you will only see the golden padlock symbol on the page where you enter your credit card details). These details are transferred to the processing bank where they are authorised. Neither we nor anybody else see the details and they are not held in clear text on any web site. We do not receive your credit card details; therefore we are unable to add items to an order once it is placed.
Over Christmas we extend our returns policy as we know some items are being given as gifts and customers may start their shopping early and want more time to exchange or refund if gifts are unsuitable.
Our extended refund period starts on the 25th November and runs through to the 6 January 2014. You must have notified us by this date that you wish to return your item and we will email you a Returns Form.

If you have changed your mind and would like to return your order:
1. Please contact us at email@example.com within 7 days of receiving your purchases and we will send you a Returns form. Provided the items are returned in their original condition and sent back in suitable packaging, we will give you a refund for the cost of the item or exchange it, excluding the delivery charge. We usually process Returns within 5 working days.
2. Please enclose your Invoice and the Returns form explaining why you are returning/exchanging the item so that we can process it quickly for you. We will not be able to provide a refund for any goods that appear to have been used, or that have been damaged in the post so please ensure you pack the bag carefully int he original packaging and place the strap inside the bag. We strongly recommend using Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. Please always retain proof of posting (available free of cost at Post Office counters) when returning goods. Please note: Unfortunately we cannot be held liable for any items that we do not receive or are lost or damaged in the post when they are returned.
3. If you are exchanging your bag we will need to collect the extra postal cost from you as well as any price difference which can be done via PayPal or via credit card, contact us for details.
Items returned from countries outside the EU must clearly state on the packaging and customs declaration form that the returned item(s) are being returned to the original sender as ‘COMMERCIAL GOODS RETURNED FOR EXCHANGE’. If you fail to state this, you may be liable for customs duties of up to /Euro/$50.
Our bags and jewellery are all made by hand and while we do check them before they are sent out, we do get the occasional fault, and we do what we can to rectify this as soon as possible as we are proud of our products and want you to be able to enjoy them for years to come. Our policy is that if you receive damaged/faulty goods we ask that:
1. You initially call us (+44 (0) 07838371405 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 7 days. We may request you send us photographs of the item so that we can assess the damage and determine whether the item can be repaired.
2. If the item is faulty we would then ask you to return the item to us (we will send you a Returns label and a Returns form) and we will arrange for the item to be repaired. Please enclose your Invoice and the Returns form, explaining why you are returning the item so that we can process it quickly for you. Please always retain proof of posting (available free of cost at Post Office counters) when returning goods. Please note: Unfortunately we cannot be held liable for any items that we do not receive or are lost or damaged in the post when they are returned.
3. If a repair is not possible we will replace the item. If a replacement is not possible we will offer a refund in full (including the original delivery charge).
We usually process returns in 5 working days.
It is important you contact us for a UK return label and form or international return instructions.
We may not reimburse return postage if customers have not previously contacted us.
Please take care when packing your bags and jewellery as we may not refund or exchange if the bag has been incorrectly packaged or damaged in the post.
